Before and after eyelid surgery
Why Eyelid Clinic?
Eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed to remove excess skin and fat from the upper and lower eyelids. This procedure can help improve droopy eyelids, puffiness under the eyes, and rejuvenate the appearance of the eyes. In addition to enhancing beauty, blepharoplasty also helps improve vision in some cases. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, usually under local anesthesia, and has a short recovery period. Choosing a surgeon who is experienced and skilled in this field is of great importance to achieve natural and safe results. In the lower eyelid, excess fat and skin under the eyes can cause bags under the eyes and make the person look tired all the time. The skin gradually loses its elasticity as we age. Lower eyelid blepharoplasty can be an excellent solution to correct bags under the eyes. Eyelid surgery is considered an outpatient procedure and takes approximately 45 minutes to 2 hours to complete.
What is blepharoplasty?
Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is one of the most popular cosmetic facial surgeries performed to improve or rejuvenate the appearance of the upper and lower eyelids. This procedure helps to remove sagging eyelid skin, puffy eyes, and excess fat around the eyes.
People who have droopy eyelids due to genetics or aging can get rid of excess skin and wrinkles with eyelid surgery. Of course, this procedure is not always performed for rejuvenation and beauty, but sometimes it has a therapeutic aspect and can solve vision-related problems.
To have blepharoplasty, you should see a specialist such as an ophthalmic surgeon or a cosmetic surgeon. If the surgeon you choose is skilled enough and the surgery is performed in a specialized clinic, the risk of complications from eyelid surgery is minimized.

Durability and effectiveness
Longevity and Effectiveness This surgical procedure can lift the eyelids and make the eyes appear younger and more refreshed.
However, while the results of blepharoplasty can be amazing, they are not permanent. The duration of results generally lasts around 10 to 15 years, but the longevity of blepharoplasty can vary as there are several factors that patients should be aware of.
To maximize the longevity of blepharoplasty results, there are several key steps you can take. First and foremost, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle, which includes staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water and consuming electrolytes.
A balanced diet rich in collagen molecules can also support the healing process of the skin and maintain its elasticity. Regular physical activity, within the limits of your healing process, can also contribute to overall skin health and a more youthful appearance.
Regular follow-up with your surgeon can also help maintain the results of blepharoplasty.
What can we expect from eyelid cosmetic surgery?
We should have realistic and reasonable expectations of the surgery and its results. For this reason, seeing before and after pictures of other people and possibly consulting with those who have previously undergone surgery can be helpful.
It should also be noted that blepharoplasty surgery does not improve the following:
Dark circles around the eyes
Dropped eyebrows (additional or separate surgery is needed to correct this problem.)
Wrinkles that develop around the eyelids, between the eyebrows and on the forehead (Botox injections are a good way to correct these.)
Setting realistic expectations for the long-term results of blepharoplasty is key to patient satisfaction. While this procedure can significantly improve the appearance of the eyes, it is not a permanent solution. The durability of the results can vary from person to person, depending on factors such as age, skin elasticity, lifestyle habits, genetic predispositions, and post-operative care.

Frequently asked questions for you beauty lovers
How long does blepharoplasty take?
The eyelid cosmetic surgery process takes about one to two hours.
How long does blepharoplasty last?
Eyelid surgery provides almost permanent results. However, the aging process cannot be stopped, and you may see wrinkles and sagging skin around your eyes again in your middle years.
Will scars and stitches remain after blepharoplasty?
Don’t worry about this at all and be careful in your choice. The stitches in the clinic’s eyelid are applied using the fidget cut method and are very delicate.
Is this procedure painful?
Most patients are surprised to find that they have little pain after surgery. Of course, some discomfort is to be expected after any type of surgery. All patients are given a prescription for painkillers. Sometimes patients start taking painkillers 4-5 days after surgery. People who have had facial surgery may feel pain when chewing food for up to 48 hours. Usually, people do not have any uncontrollable pain after surgery.
Are blepharoplasty stitches absorbable?
Blepharoplasty specialists often do not use absorbable sutures. The sutures are usually non-absorbable and are removed 5 to 10 days after surgery, and the drooping eyelids are resolved. Sometimes, depending on the surgeon’s diagnosis, the sutures are removed section by section (i.e., not all sutures are removed at the same time). You should also know that there is no need to worry about the suture site. Because the sutures are placed very delicately in the natural crease of the eyelid.
I'm afraid of anesthesia and my eyes staying open. Will that be a problem?
At the Eye Clinic, an eye specialist will perform this procedure for you under anesthesia. By observing the movements of your eye muscles during anesthesia and accurately measuring and designing them correctly, there will be no problems.
